In 1941 Vichy France, Jean-Jacques Barr'e's group of the Section Technique de l'Artillerie at Lyon had secretly developed a petrol/LOX rocket, the EA-1941, tested twice at Vancia near Lyon in 1941 and then after the liberation in 1945 at Polygone de la Renardiere at Toulon. Barr'e then went to LRBA at Vernon and developed Eole, tested at CB in 1952-1953.
The DEFA (Direction des Etudes et Fabrications d'Armement) established LRBA at Vernon in 1946 May. Veronique P2 had four solid motors and was flight tested in 1951 Apr. Veronique P6 had a 20 kN solid motor. Veronique R had a 40 kN NA/kerosene motor.
The following table gives stage properties, excluding nose cone.
The Veronique N liquid rocket was succeeded by improved versions NA, AGI, 61 and 61M. The 61M had a slightly different fin configuration from the 61. In addition, a subscale Veronique R (reduit) and solid propelled full scale test vehicles Veronique P2 and P6 were tested in France in the early 1950s.
The Dauphin was a Stromboli motor; an Eridan was two Stromboli.

Titus is derived from Berenice. The Berenice stage motor is related to the Dragon first stage, but with a different propulsion system.
